Vintage Sheffield Silver Plate Round Serving Tray

A round English silverplate serving tray on three cast scroll feet, Sheffield-made and most likely produced in the interwar or early postwar period, ca. 1920 to 1950. The border carries a crisp machine-engraved geometric pattern of crosshatched diamonds and parallel bands, clean and graphic against the plain center field. The form follows the classic English round salver shape used from the Georgian period forward, and this example reads as a well-made piece in that tradition. No named maker is identifiable from the marks present.

The tray is in good vintage condition overall. The silverplate surface retains good coverage across the face and border with no copper bleed visible on the top surface. The reverse shows oxidation and uneven toning consistent with age and storage, but no structural issues. The engraved border is crisp and fully intact. The three cast scroll feet are solid and stable with no bending or looseness. Light surface scratching to the center field consistent with use. No dents, no significant losses to plate, no repairs noted.
