Victorian Scottish Tartanware Needle Case with Needles, McPherson Tartan, c. 1870–1900

Victorian Scottish tartanware needle case in the McPherson tartan, late 19th century, made as both a sewing tool and a Highland souvenir. The petite cylindrical case has a fitted cap and a sliding wooden inner holder for hand sewing needles. The clan name is printed on the case, which adds identity and collectibility over an unnamed plaid piece. Several antique needles are included, as shown. Suited to a sewing vignette, a desk, or a collector's cabinet.

Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. The tartan finish shows light surface scuffs and handling marks consistent with use and age, with minor rubbing to the lacquer in areas.
