Brass lidded mantel urn in the neoclassical taste, late 19th century, with a tall body rising from a square plinth on paw feet. Applied laurel and floral garlands run around the sides, ring handles hang from foliate mounts, and the lid is finished with a ribbed knop finial. The brass has taken on a warm, even patina. Continental in manner, offered without maker's mark, and sized for a mantel, console, or bookshelf.
