[condition] The original blue cloth binding is solid and holding well. Rubbing and edge wear are present and consistent with age, concentrated at the corners and spine ends. The gilt stamped decoration and royal coat of arms remain visible and attractive throughout. Internally, the pages show age toning and scattered foxing throughout, including on the title page and some illustration plates, typical for an illustrated volume of this period and not unusual for the format. The binding is firm and all pages are intact. The original prize label is present and fully legible.
