[condition] The boards are firm and the corners remain sharp, with only gentle sunning to the spine and light rubbing at the edges, consistent with over a century of shelf life. The gilt lettering on both spine and cover is bright and fully legible. Hinges are strong throughout and the text block is tight with no loose or detached pages. The endpapers and early leaves show moderate foxing, concentrated around the inscription, which adds character without detracting from the volume's overall integrity. Interior text pages and plates are clean with even, light age toning throughout. A very good copy for its age and a handsome one at that.
