[condition] The half leather binding shows general rubbing and wear to the corners, edges, and spine ends, with scuffing and surface wear to the red leather throughout. This is honest age wear for a book of this period and does not detract from the overall appearance. The marbled boards and gilt spine decoration remain attractive and legible. The interior shows age toning and scattered foxing, most notably around the preliminary pages and plate margins, consistent with paper of this era. The prize presentation inscription to the front pastedown is clear and complete. A solid and attractive copy overall, displaying well and appropriate for a serious collection.
