I bought this footed serving tray, called a salver, in England. What catches the eye first is the engraved crest at the center: a demi-lion rising from a wreath, the kind of family crest that once marked a household's silver. The plain mirrored surface sets it off, framed by a fine beaded border and raised on four cast shell feet.
