[condition] The three-quarter leather binding is attractive and presents well, with light rubbing and minor surface wear to the boards and spine consistent with age and handling. Gilt spine decoration remains bright and fully legible. The marbled boards are sound. Interior is generally clean with age toning throughout and a few scattered spots of foxing or light soiling, all expected for a volume of this period. The gift inscription to the front blank is clear and intact. Illustrated plates are present throughout. A well-preserved Victorian copy that displays very nicely.
