Miniature Brass Tilt-Top Table Candle Reflector

A miniature brass tilt-top table with a fully functioning tilt mechanism, reduced to cabinet scale from the full-size tripod tea tables that furnished English drawing rooms from the mid-18th century onward. The form is the thing here: a baluster-turned pedestal rising from three scroll legs with pad feet, topped by a plain circular brass surface that tilts and locks vertically just as a full-size piece would. Without a decorated surface to compete, the quality of the turning and the warm brass patina carry the whole piece.
